What STP bioculture does
STP bioculture supplies selected microorganisms intended to support the biological conversion of compatible organic matter in domestic and commercial sewage. It can assist biomass establishment and recovery when the plant provides suitable operating conditions.
The wider STP process still matters
Screening, grit removal, aeration, clarification, sludge wasting and validated disinfection each perform a separate function. Bioculture is not a disinfectant and does not replace sludge management or mechanical maintenance.
Operating conditions to review
Track flow, BOD/COD load, ammonia, pH, dissolved oxygen, MLSS and settling. Low oxygen, chemical cleaning discharges, hydraulic surges and biomass washout should be corrected before expecting a microbial programme to stabilise the plant.
Selecting an STP culture
The application should match the treatment process—such as activated sludge, MBBR or SBR—and the current biomass condition. A technical review determines the activation and maintenance plan.
